VICTORIA Lee, a young and promising fighter signed under ONE Championship, has passed away.
She was 18.
Her sister and ONE Women's Atomweight World Champion Angela Lee bared the sad news, stating that the Singaporean-American prodigy died last Dec. 26 without disclosing the cause of her death.
Gone too soon
"It is incredibly difficult to say this. Our Victoria passed away. She has gone too soon and our family has been completely devastated since then," she wrote in an Instagram post.
"We miss her. More than anything in this world. Our family will never be the same. Life will never be the same."
The company also released a statement on the matter which read: "The ONE Championship team is devastated over the tragic passing of Victoria Lee. We send our most heartfelt condolences to her family and friends at this difficult time."
Lee, who was looking to follow in the footsteps of her siblings Angela and ONE Lightweight and Welterweight World Champion Christian, was one of the budding young talents for the promotion, scoring three impressive finishes since making her debut in February 2021.
Her last fight was at ONE: Revolution in February 2021 where she earned a first-round technical knockout win over Brazil's Victoria Souza.
She was slated to fight Indian foe Zeba Bano at ONE Fight Night 6 on Jan. 14 in Bangkok.
Angela furthered, "Victoria was the most beautiful soul who ever lived."
"She was the best little sister in the world. The best daughter, the best granddaughter and the best auntie. We miss you so much sis. More than you could ever realise. We’re all broken. Because a piece of you was in each of us and when you left, those pieces were ripped out of us. We will never be the same."
