IT was a debut Mark Striegl would rather forget.
Said Nurmagomedov brutalized the Fil-Am fighter, gaining victory in just 51 seconds at UFC Fight Night: Ortega vs Korean Zombie on Sunday at UFC Fight Island in Abu Dhabi.
Devastating was the Russian's short left counter that forced Striegl to desperately cling on his right leg.
Yet it only opened the window for Nurmagomedov to pummel him with vicious strikes, continuing the barrage as Striegl fell to the ground and led to the referee stopping the fight.
It wasn't what Striegl envisioned for his UFC debut after the Southeast Asian Games sambo gold medalist recovered from COVID-19.
He dropped to 18-3 (1 NC) in a bitter start to his run in the promotion.
Nurmagomedov, meanwhile, improved to 14-2 win-loss record.
