MARWIN "The Green Goblin" Quirante was forced to battle something fierce after experiencing his first loss in ONE Championship – the demons in his head.
This comes after he lost to Torepchi Dongak in the first round of their strawweight MMA bout at ONE Friday Fights 109 on May 23 at Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.
It wasn't easy to process the loss for the 22-year-old, especially as he had aspirations of making the main roster entering the fight. It’s a goal that will now have to wait.

"I'm feeling defeated, and a lot of questions are swirling around in my head. Should I quit or keep pushing forward?" he said.
But it's a battle he won as he plans to fight on, recover, and realign his mind with the goal at hand – first, to win a ONE Championship contract worth US$100,000, and second, become a World Champion.
"It feels like even my spirit is hiding in the shadows. But my heart, especially when it comes to MMA, remains strong despite everything. This is only the beginning and I'm steadily making progress," he said.
Proving that no loss will shake the confidence of Quirante, not only will he become a World Champion, he'll be the greatest Filipino to ever do it.
"I will come back stronger," he said. "I refuse to lose hope; I'm determined to be the best – the number one Filipino World Champion."
