MARTIN Nguyen once again put on a show for his Filipino fans, retaining his featherweight championship against a gritty Narantungalag Jadambaa in the main event of ONE: Roots of Honor on Friday night at Mall of Asia Arena.
The Australian-Vietnamese connected on a stiff kick to the left leg of his Mongolian challenger, sending him reeling to the cage before connecting on a flying left knee that forced referee Olivier Coste to stop the match at 1:07 into the second round.
"I came out and did what I set to do. This is my division. That's it. Bottomline," said Nguyen as he reminded everyone who the division's king is.
Nguyen improved to 12-3 for his career as he also marked a successful return to the cage after losing to Kevin Belingon in July last year.
Jadambaa, meanwhile, fell to 14-6 for his career.
