FILIPINO fighter Lito Adiwang of the famed Team Lakay stable in Baguio is the newest member of the ONE Championship roster.
The 26-year-old strawweight earned a six-figure ONE Championship contract after trampling Vietnamese foe Anthony Do via unanimous decision in the main event of ONE Warrior Series Tuesday in Singapore.
Adiwang's impressive showing was enough for the promotion's brass to offer him a contract and join his stablemates like reigning ONE Strawweight Champion Joshua Pacio and two-time ONE Lightweight Champion Eduard Folayang under the ONE umbrella.
"Lito always put on the most exciting performances every time he stepped into the ONE Warrior Series ring," said Jonathan Fong, director of ONE Warrior Series. "With Lito moving on to ONE Championship, no doubt the already-stacked strawweight division will take notice of his power and explosiveness. Look for him to make an immediate impact as soon as he gets the call."
The victory of Adiwang not only hiked his record to 9-2, but also earned him a Warrior Bonus for his stupendous showing against Do.
Aside from Adiwang, also earning a Warrior Bonus was fellow Filipino Dave Bangguigui, who submitted Brazilian opponent Alber Correia Da Silva via rear naked choke in the second round of their strawweight clash.
