Former ONE Bantamweight MMA World Champion Kevin “The Silencer” Belingon sees a lot of himself from Team Lakay’s Carlo “The Bull” Bumina-ang ahead of the latter’s next match in ONE Championship.

Bumina-ang jumps back to action when he takes on the dangerous Mauro Mastromarini at ONE Fight Night 30 set on Saturday morning, April 5 from inside Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.

Belingon can certainly see the resemblance between him and “The Bull,” especially with their mentality each time they set foot in the ring to compete.

“Yes of course I see some similarities. Like me, he comes in with a finisher’s mentality. He wants to come in there and finish the fight as early as possible,” he shared.

“That was me in my heyday. I always come in there and try to finish the fight as fast as I can. That’s Carlo’s edge, that killer instinct and that mindset that he’s gonna finish every fight.”

That type of mentality brought Belingon to the mountaintop of the bantamweight division when he beat Bibiano Fernandes back in 2018 to win the ONE Bantamweight MMA World Title.

He believes that if Bumina-ang can keep the same aggression, coupled with consistency in getting better, the Team Lakay fighter can certainly go as far as he did – if not better.

“Carlo will have a long career ahead of him and I’m excited to see where he’ll end up. For as long as he stays disciplined, inside and outside the training, he’ll go places,” Belingon stated.

“Being disciplined and staying consistent will be the key to him maintaining those types of performances in the Circle or in the ring,” he added.

“It’s all about discipline now, just staying away from bad habits and he’ll have a very good career ahead of him.”

That’s why he’s confident that Bumina-ang will continue his winning ways come his next outing against the Argentinian.

“Based on his previous fights there’s really no reason to doubt him, especially since I see himself improving with each fight,” he said.

“I’m confident that he’ll get another win in this upcoming fight.”
