KEVIN Belingon fights on home soil for the first time in over two years in One: Kings of Destiny on April 21 at the Mall of Asia Arena.
Belingon, 14-5, is set to face Finland's Toni Tauru (11-4) in the undercard of the event headlined by the Eduard Folayang lightweight title defense against EV Ting.
Belingon has been raring to showcase his talents in the Philippines anew after being left out of the Manila card last December. He saw action also in Pasay in December 2014, beating Koetsu Okazaki in One: Warriors Way.
Coming off a win against Muin Gafurov last October, ‘The Silencer’ Belingon’s road back to another title shot could very well be formalized with a strong showing in Manila.
And he won’t be lacking motivation, having a score to settle for team Lakay after Tauru submitted his stablemate Geje Eustaquio in December.
"Time naman ang magsasabi kung magcha-champion ako. Nageensayo lang ako para makamit ko yung dream ko na mag champion. Iniimprove ko pa yung kailangan ko iimprove, lalo na sa Jiu Jitsu," Belingon said.
"Abangan nila na baka ako ang magiging susunod na bantamweight champion," he added.
Two other Lakay fighters are set to see action as undefeated Flyweight Danny Kingad (4-0) is also set to see action against Muhammad Aiman (2-1), while Gina Iniong makes her debut against Filipino-English fighter Natalie Gonzales Hills.
