WITH just one day until his return to the ONE Championship ring, Jeremy “The Jaguar” Miado is anticipating a rebound victory.
But he knows he’s going to have to go through hell and back if he wants to beat the equally determined No. 4-ranked strawweight contender Hiroba Minowa when they clash at ONE Fight Night 23 tomorrow inside Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, in strawweight MMA action.
With both men on the wrong end of bad streaks, Miado knows he’s going to have to elevate his game in this clash.
“From what I’ve seen from Minowa, he’s someone who doesn’t give up. He really has that fighter’s heart. He’s young and hungry,” he said.
“We’re both coming off bad streaks and we both know that this is our way back to relevancy. I expect him to come out ready. It’s all about formulating the proper game plan.”

Won't Reach The Decision
Having seen Minowa operate in the past, Miado knows exactly what to expect from the Japanese fighter.
In all of his fights in ONE Championship, Minowa has exclusively tried to take opponents to the ground and work on them from there.
But if “The Jaguar” can counter Minowa’s takedowns with strikes, then he knows he’ll be in a good position to end his slump.
“His strengths will be his wrestling, that’s a given. I expect him to time my strikes and switch for a takedown,” he said.
“On my end, my advantage would be my footwork. I plan to make things difficult for him when he’s shooting and use my length to maximize my advantage on the range.”
That’s exactly why the Filipino is confident that the judges won’t be needed this time around.
“This fight won’t reach the decision, and I plan to end [it] by the end of the first round. You know how I fight, I always fight to finish,” he said.
“I see it ending near the end of the first round or early in the second. I’ll be more aggressive, I won’t be sitting back and waiting.”
