JENEL Lausa outlasted Crisanto Pitpitunge to capture the flyweight belt of the Pacific X-Treme Combat in PXC 51 on Saturday night at the Solaire Grand Ballroom.

The Ilonggo fighter took everything his Baguio native gave him standing up as well as on the ground to score the split-decision victory that stretched his winning streak to four fights.

“Sobrang saya,” Lausa addressed the crowd. “Sa challenger ko, paghahandaan natin yan.”

Lausa denied Pitpitunge of the distinction of becoming the first two-division champion in Asia-Pacific’s top MMA outfit as the former bantamweight title holder came up short in the flyweight class.

Two judges scored the bout 48-47, Lausa, while one judge favored Pitpitunge, a Baguio cop, by the same score.

Lausa thus improved to a 5-2 win-loss record, while snapping the three-fight win streak of Pitpitinge, who absorbed a fourth defeat in 12 bouts.

Kwan Ho Kwak dethroned bantamweight titlist Kyle Aguon with a unanimous-decision triumph in the co-main event.

The undefeated South Korean challenger had been seemingly trailing in points when connected a right jab that floored the erstwhile champion then pounded him on the ground to seal the deal.
