ISLAY Erika Bomogao continued her impressive ways in ONE Championship Muay Thai, as she proved that her power will carry over in her debut in the atomweight division.

Bomogao walloped Ploychompoo PU Phabai enroute to a second round knockout win in an atomweight Muay Thai bout at ONE Friday Fights 134 inside Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.

The 25-year-old Filipina overwhelmed her 16-year-old counterpart, pushing the Thai onto the ropes and landing knees and punches, with one clean body shot folding Ploychompoo for another sensational finish, 47 seconds into the second round.

“I’m feeling incredible. Honestly I didn’t expect to finish it that early but I’m glad I did. I’m really happy,” Bomogao said in the post-fight interview.

“Boxing is definitely something we’ve been working for. We Filipinos are really blessed with hands right? [Like] Manny Pacquiao,” she added.

Her boxing work was evident even in the first round as she scored a knockdown in the 1:32 mark of that round.

Feeling more confident after the knockdown, Bomogao upped the pressure, connecting on a few clean hooks, including one to the body just before the round ended.

While the Thai tried to change things up in the second round by throwing more kicks, the pride of Baguio City wasn’t to be denied, with her quickness and hand work proving too much to overcome to set-up the finish, her second consecutive knockout win in the promotion.

The former Southeast Asian Games gold medalist improved to 5-0 for her professional career, while also being awarded a 350,000 baht performance bonus (roughly 634,000 PHP) for the second consecutive fight.

This also marked an impressive debut in an actual ONE Championship weight class after competing in catchweights in her first three wins. Should she continue her impressive ways, she'll find her way towards the unstoppable Allycia Hellen Rodrigues, the current ONE Women's Atomweight Muay Thai World Champion.
