TWO Filipino bets join compatriot Brandon Vera in carrying the Philippine banner in ONE FC: Warrior’s Way on December 5 at the Mall of Asia Arena.
Former featherweight champion Honorio Banario and bantamweight contender Kevin Belingon seek to reclaim lost glory as they take on Herbert Burns of Brazil and Japanese Koetsu Okazaki, respectively.
The 25-year-old Banario, sporting an 8-4 win-loss card, tries to snap a three-fight skid that marked his quick fall from grace after a short reign as titleholder.
Belingon, who turned 27 last Thursday, hopes to bounce back after a disappointing first-round submission loss to Dae Hwan Kim in ONE FC: War of Nations last March in a fight that would’ve gained him a title shot.
Instead, the undefeated Kim grabbed the opportunity and will challenge champion Bibiano Fernandes in the main event.
The two Lakay standouts join Filipino-American Brandon Vera, the former Ultimate Fighting Championship contender who makes his ONE FC debut against Ukranian Igor Subora.
Eduard Folayang and Eric Kelly are also expected to see action in the Filipino-loaded card against still-undetermined foes.
