TEN out of ten.
These are the number of times new UFC bantamweight champion Holly Holm believes she can beat Ronda Rousey.
Holm told the New York Times she was “impressed” during her victory tour after her stunning upset in UFC 193 in Melbourne, Australia.
But when asked how many times she thought she would win if she and Rousey were to meet 10 times, she pulled no punches.
“Ten. Because if I tell myself that there is one that I might not get, then I’ll be vulnerable. I also know that I’m unbeatable, so I’m going to train twice as hard,” said the 34-year old undefeated fighter who is sure there will be a rematch.
“She’s going to come back. She’s mad that it’s not her title anymore. I’ve got to be twice as ready as last time.”
Despite her confidence in taking on Rousey in the octagon in a rematch, Holm belied claims from UFC contender Chael Sonnen that former champ Rousey is overrated by media.
Sonnen told ESPN Radio that Rousey “a media sensation” and may not have been as good as media claimed her to be.
“(Rousey) was kind of able to run through the girls in the division, but yes, everybody is beatable… There was media around her but she was able to go in and take care of these girls so I hate to say that she’s all hype. That’s not what it is,” Holm said.
