FORMER One flyweight champion Geje Eustaquio begins his road to redemption when he returns to the cage at One: Enter The Dragon on May 17 at Singapore Indoor Stadium.
Eustaquio (11-7) takes on Korean flyweight contender Kim Kyu Sung (9-2) in the Singapore fightcard, with him looking at this match as a fresh start for him.
"I can't wait to bounce back and start over again. Rest assured, you'll see the best version of me in Singapore," said the 30-year-old Igorot fighter.
Eustaquio is intent to pick up the pieces from his unanimous decision defeat to Adriano Moraes in January, where he lost his flyweight belt.
"The most important is don't put the decision on the hands of the judges, so expect me to go all out. I wish to get back in the winning column and pave a new path to the title contention," he said.
However, Eustaquio acknowledges the danger of facing off against an unknown Kim, who is set to make his debut in the promotion.
"We don't know much about our upcoming opponent as he'll be making his debut, but we know that he's tall and lanky. So we'll have to prepare for that," he said.
To the Team Lakay bet, this is his first step on reclaiming what he feels is rightfully his as he wants to get back to his throne atop the flyweight division.
"I'm into a new era which simply means it's all or nothing."
