THE Floyd Mayweather against Ronda Rousey exchange and the boxing versus mixed martial arts continues.
Mayweather, dissed by Rousey when the unbeaten female MMA fighter was named ESPYs Fighter of the Year, actually gave the latter a compliment and said the latter deserved the award but also noted he had won it quite a few times before.
The big hit from the American boxer was when he ranked Rousey among other fighters — in MMA or boxing — who don’t earn as much as quick as he does.
“I’ve yet to see any MMA fighter, or other boxer, make over $300 million in 36 minutes. When she can do that, then call me,” said Mayweather in a recent interview with ESPN.
Mayweather had his biggest payday when he took on Manny Pacquiao in the bout dubbed as Fight of the Century, which broke pay-per-view records.
“A while back I didn't know who Ronda Rousey was, so I'm pretty sure she got upset. I want to say congratulations to Ronda Rousey and the UFC. You guys have done a tremendous job and I've won probably six or seven ESPYS for Fighter of the Year. And I truly believe she deserves it. Congratulations to Ronda Rousey."
Rousey called out Mayweather during the ESPYs, talking the opportunity to respond to the latter earlier declaring that he doesn’t know her.
“I can’t help but really say that, I wonder how Floyd feels about being beat by a woman for once. I’d like to see him pretend to not know who I am now,” said the undefeated Ultimate Fighting Championship star.
