WINS continued to be elusive for Fil-Aussie fighter Josh Culibao in the UFC as he settled for a controversial split draw in his fight against Charles Jourdain on Sunday in Abu Dhabi.
Culibao got the nod of one judge, 29-28, while Jourdain took a surprising 30-27 score despite being dropped in the first round of the undercard at UFC Fight Night: Holm vs Aldana.
The third judge scored it 28-28.
Culibao, in his second UFC fight, now holds a 8-1-1 professional record.
The Canadian Jourdain, on the other hand, saw his win-loss card turn to 10-3-1.
Without question the underdog in the match, Culibao was quick on the offensive early on, landing a quick takedown in the first minute before countering Jourdain's spinning backfist with a thunderous right before attempting to lock in a guillotine.
It was more of the same in round two, with Culibao bucking a self-inflicted eye poke before getting another takedown late in the round.
Desperate to sway the match in his favor, Jourdain unloaded power shots in the third round and attempted his own guillotine before trying an armbar, to which Culibao wiggled out of before the match's end.
