EUGENE Toquero vowed to end by knockout the unbeaten run of American-born Malaysian Gianni Subba when they face off next month in a flyweight match in ONE Fighting Championship at the MOA Arena.

“My experience and skills will make the difference. There will be a knockout and it will be him going down,” said the 33-year-old Toquero, who holds an MMA record of four wins and a loss.

Toquero noted that Subba is only 22 and has fought only thrice in MMA.

The fight is set May 2.

“The fans will enjoy our fight. Subba may be good but I’m better because of my experience and skills.”

“I have more fights in my career than Subba. I’m a veteran when it comes to competition. Mas maraming baon ako,” he added.

Still, Toquero, a member of the Philippine muay team from 2004 to 2009, said he is not taking his opponent lightly.

“Maraming magagaling sa ONE FC kaya hindi puwede pa-easy easy lang. Laro laro din ako pero nandon pa rin ang game plan,” said the Cebuano fighter.

Toquero, a gym instructor and coach to several local celebrities, started training as early as January even when organizers had yet to announce his opponent.
