    Johnson outclasses Kingad in ONE Grand Prix Finals to earn flyweight title shot

    DEMETRIOUS Johnson was just too much for Danny Kingad in the ONE Flyweight World Grand Prix Finals, losing via unanimous decision at ONE: Century Saturday at Ryogoku Kokugikan in Tokyo, Japan.

    The experience of the former UFC champion was in full display, leading for the Team Lakay young lion to drop to only his second defeat and fall to 13-2.

    Kingad tried to be the aggressor early, but Johnson, as always, remained poised under pressure, gaining control of the match as he displayed his tremendous grappling game.

    It also didn't help that the Filipino warrior had no answers whenever the famed American fighter took him down in all three grueling rounds.

    Yet when the dust settled, Johnson knew better to heap praises towards Kingad.

    "I felt great, but I have to admit, Danny was tough," he said, with his record rising to 30-3.

    Now, Johnson turns his attention on the division's gold as he seeks a showdown against ONE Flyweight World Champion Adriano Moraes.
