DANNY Kingad's superb showing in the third round propelled him to the ONE Flyweight World Grand Prix Finals, outlasting Reece McLaren via split decision at ONE: Dawn of Heroes Friday at Mall of Asia Arena.

The young Filipino fighter's aggression and pin-point attack in the final round helped him extend his win streak to six matches, and a shot for immortality as he heads to the Finals in Tokyo come October.

"I feel so very happy. One more, isa pa," said Kingad.

Kingad scored two takedowns in the final round and asserted control on the mat, grounding and pounding McLaren as he took side control and nailed his Aussie foe with short elbows and knees.

That negated the first two rounds which were largely owned by McLaren, who was quick to take the fight to the ground and repeatedly attemped a rear-naked choke, to no avail.

Kingad now awaits the victor of the fight between Demetrious Johnson and Tatsumitsu Wada for his date in the Finals.

He improved to 13-1, while sending McLaren, a substitute fighter, down to a 12-7 card.

Rodlek P.K.Saenchaimuaythaigym also stopped Andrew Miller with a sickening right straight to score the knockout win 49 seconds into the third round in their bantamweight muay thai match.
