DANNY Kingad battles it out with some of the top fighters in his division as he enters the Flyweight Grand Prix in One: A New Era on March 31 at Ryogoku Kokugikan in Tokyo, Japan.
Brackets were revealed by One Championship chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtongon on Thursday morning and Kingad (9-1) is set to face American bet Andrew Leone (8-4) in the quarterfinals.
Also in the same bracket is former ONE flyweight Champion Kairat Akhmetov, who will meet Reece McLaren of Australia.
Former UFC flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson will make his much awaited debut when he meets Japanese fighter Yuya Wakamatsu, with the winner of that bout advancing to the semifinals against the victor of the bout between Tatsumitsu Wada of Japan and Ivanildo Delfino of Brazil.
Kingad earned his slot to the Grand Prix after topping Wada via unanimous decision last month at ONE: Hero's Ascent in Manila.
The Japan card also features Eduard Folayang defending his ONE Lightweight Championship against Japanese rival and former titlist Shinya Aoki in the main event.
ONE Women's Strawweight Champion Xiong Jing Nan is also set for a title defense in a champion-versus-champion battle between ONE Women's Atomweight Champion Angela Lee, while Aung La N Sang will be challenged by Ken Hasegawa for the ONE Middleweight Championship.
Eddie Alvarez will make his debut in the promotion against Timofey Nastyukhin in a quarterfinal bout in the lightweight Grand Prix.
