TEAM Lakay rising star Carlos 'Limitless' Alvarez believes one more victory could secure him the coveted US$100,000 contract to join the ONE Championship main roster.
Set to compete in a featherweight MMA bout against Nachyn Sat at ONE Friday Fights 43 on December 1 inside Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, Alvarez seeks to extend his impressive winning streak.
Dominant Alvarez
Alvarez has been dominant in his three previous fights in the Lumpinee spectacle, finishing all opponents within the first two rounds.
Confident in his abilities, the unbeaten MMA fighter sees this upcoming bout as the key to realizing his dream contract.
"I’m excited because if I win here, I could get that ONE Championship main roster contract," said Alvarez as he expressed his gratitude to ONE Championship and coach Mark Sangiao.
Nachyn Sat, however, is no pushover.
Aware of Sat's height advantage and ability to control distance, Alvarez is preparing for a strategic match.
"I’ve seen his fights. He’s got a strong body and he’s tall, he’s 5 foot 10. He’s got great kicks, and he has the reach advantage," said Alvarez who, nevertheless is confident in his versatility and striking ability.
Alvarez battle plan
With a planned mix of striking and groundwork, he aims to exploit Sat's perceived weaknesses, particularly in boxing.
"I feel like he’s lacking in boxing. I’m looking at his boxing, that’s where his holes are. I think if I set it up properly, I can land that big one on him. I can also take him down and control him," Alvarez said.
