Coach Mark Sangiao believes fans will quickly love the fighter he calls “The Bull.”
“He’s a striker who likes to stand toe-to-toe. That’s why I called him ‘The Bull,’ because it’s evident with his performances and how he trains,” said Sangiao.
“He truly wants to finish his opponents and get the knockout. Expect him to work to finish.”
Part of the Benguet-based stable for years now, Bumina-ang represented the Philippines in international competitions as a member of the Philippine National Kickboxing Team.
After a few podium finishes, Bumina-ang believes that now’s the time to follow in the footsteps of his teammates and make a mark in MMA.
“I think it’s with the consistency in training. I just tried to keep building good habits in my everyday training,” Bumina-ang said.
“I feel like I’m ready because I’m already training with Jhanlo [Mark Sangiao] and Carlos [Alvarez]. Even before the SEA Games competitions, I was supposed to transition to MMA.”
Seeing stablemates Sangiao, Alvarez, and Danny Kingad do well, Bumina-ang enters the bout very confident.
“Whatever it takes, I need to stop [Saedi],” he said. “Whether it be on the ground, or standing.”
