BRANDON Vera is stepping up to challenge Aung La N Sang for the ONE Light Heavyweight World Championship.

The reigning ONE Heavyweight World Champion issued the challenge during the ONE: A New Era at Ryoguku Kokugikan in Tokyo, Japan, baring his intention to move down to a lower weight class to face the Burmese MMA superstar.

"Congrats on your win tonight. You're a man among men," said Vera.

"I would like to ask, if we're both healthy and we're both in shape, could you and I meet here in Japan in October to challenge you for the light heavyweight title?"
