HONORIO Banario hit a roadblock in his bid for a title shot, losing by submission to Amir Khan in the co-main event of One: Beyond the Horizon on Saturday at Baoshan Arena in Shanghai.
The former featherweight champion could not slip out of a rear naked choke and the match was over four minutes into the first round.
The loss ended Banario's string of five wins as he drops to 13-7 as Khan improved to 11-3.
Lakay however will be coming home with a win as Edward Kelly was awarded with a disqualification victory over Christian Lee, who dropped the Filipino featherweight with an illegal suplex in the 2:41 mark of the first round.
Lee dropped Kelly onto his head prompting referee Olivier Coste to disqualify the Evolve product. Kelly improved to 11-5 while Lee dropped to 9-3.
