AT one point in their MMA careers, ONE Championship strawweight standouts Lito “Thunder Kid” Adiwang and Jeremy “The Jaguar” Miado shared a heated rivalry, but Adiwang is now rooting for his fierce foe-slash-compatriot to win his upcoming battle.

Miado looks to end a three-fight losing skid when he takes on No. 4-ranked strawweight contender Hiroba Minowa at ONE Fight Night 23: Ok vs. Rasulov this Saturday inside Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.

“He has my support. I want him to win this fight,” he said.

“He can dominate Minowa on the feet, and he has the tools to finish Minowa via KO or TKO.”

The fiery Filipino who represents Soma Fight Club knows all about the protagonists of this match, as he’s faced Miado twice and shared the ONE Circle with Minowa once.

Having said that, Adiwang is confident that Miado has what it takes to end his struggles against the Japanese grappler.

“As someone who’s faced both fighters and has experienced their strengths, I believe Miado has the edge in this fight,” he said.

Without a doubt, Minowa will look to expose his shortcomings on the ground, but Adiwang is confident that his compatriot will be prepared for the Japanese's advances.

“For Minowa, I believe that he needs to take this fight to the ground and control Miado to try and finish him there via submission or score points on him,” he said.

“That’s the only way Minowa can win in this match.”

Should the match stay on the feet, Adiwang is confident that Miado will no doubt take the win, noting that the gap between their striking skills is just too wide for Minowa to cross.

“Their striking, on the other hand, aren’t in the same atmosphere,” he said.

“Miado has a very big advantage in the striking department, and it’s all about focusing on connecting and delivering his strikes.”
