SOME of the country’s best skateboarders converge at Circuit Makati for the finale of the Dew Tour AM Series on Sunday.
The third edition of the Dew Tour AM Series by Mountain Dew held bootcamps outside of Metro Manila for the first time, and the winners from the elimination events in Laguna, Cebu and Davao meet Manila’s best skaters for the national finals.
The winner will win a trip to the Dew Tour USA that draws top skaters from around the world.
“We had a great time holding the Dew Tour AM Series here in Manila last year, and we wanted to give the same opportunity to more skateboarders in more cities around the country,” said PepsiCo Flavors Category Manager Kay Paras, who expects more than 2,000 skaters to take part this Sunday.
At the press event at The Couryard in Makati City on Friday, Mountain Dew pro skateboarders Thetis Beasley, Chris Colour, and Remo Pearson wowed the local skateboarding community by hosting a demo, signing autographs and skating with competitors.
“The Philippine skate scene has overwhelming energy and I am really glad that I am able to witness an extraordinary display of talent. I hope skaters here will sustain the skating passion which is growing around the world,” Beasley said.
In addition to a trip to the Dew Tour in the USA, the winner of the Dew Tour AM Series will also win P75,000 in cash. The second and third place winners will also receive cash prizes.
