SPEEDO made a splash last Tuesday with the launch of its Spring/Summer 2014 collection at the Activity Center in Glorietta Mall in Makati City.
This year’s collection features a comprehensive range of swimwear providing complete propositions for all types of swimmers - those who swim for fun, fitness, health or to compete.
The overall creative direction for the season is themed around ‘Evolution,' reflecting the brand’s mission to go beyond expectation and perceived limitations, centering on the SpeedoFit proposition which focuses on helping fitness swimmers to improve their technique.
The fashion show opened with national athletes Ariana Herranz, Hannah Dato, Kim Uy, Jessie Lacuna, Charlie Walker and Ken Uy modeling the Speedo Fastskin Racing Systems.

Designed for competitive swimmers, Speedo Fastskin provides a comprehensive selection of caps, goggles and suits to ensure all swimmers can build their ideal combination to suit their own preferences and performance needs.
Speedo’s competitive range is inspired by a ‘Pulse’ theme which uses unexpected color and graphics, the design combining understated bases and vivid neons.
The Play and Fun collection inspires beach lovers to ‘Get The Summer Feeling’ with a mix of bright, aztec, abstract and floral prints which comes in a variety of swimsuits. The range combines fashion and functionality to make each piece a welcome addition to any summer wardrobe.
With ‘Illusion’ as a design influence, the Health and Wellbeing collection features the Speedo Sculpture range featuring intelligent technologies and prints which visually shape and sculpt the female form for a flattering look.
The quick-drying Speedo Watershorts collection draws on elements of ‘Code,' ‘Pulse,' ‘Illusion’ and ‘Freestyle’ to provide an on-trend ‘mix and match’ collection. The range offers everything from simple color blocks to layered graphics and contrasting colors for those striving to look good in or around the water.
SpeedoFit Ambassador Dennis Valdes and his wife Tessa Prieto-Valdes also shared runway space with the statuesque models to the delight of the assembled guests.
The Speedo Spring/Summer collection is made up of a total of 44 colors, developed in consultation with Speedo markets worldwide and in line with current global trends.
The by-invitation only event was co-sponsored by Red Kimono, Baskin-Robbins and the Ayala Malls.
