PBA courtside reporter Rizza Diaz making it again in this year’s FHM’s 100 Sexiest Women has tested her mathematical skills.
The petite TV personality was at 97th spot when she made the honor roll in 2014, but leapfrogged to no. 52 this year.
Informed about it, Diaz initially was lost for words. And the reason?
“From 97 to 52? Sinubok nito ‘yung math ko kasi ang laki ng kailangan i-compute,” Diaz told to Spin.ph laughing.
She actually jumped 45 notches above.
“Pero na flatter ako ng sobra sobra kasi that’s like half way of the list, and I think a lot has happened in a span of a year,” she said.
But talking seriously, the bubbly sports reporter shared how her gut feel turned out for good the first time she posed for the country’s leading men magazine last year.
“When I first did FHM I was scared and excited at the same time. Sabi ko maybe I just go for it,” she said. “But there were people telling me it might not be a good move, but I just trusted my instinct.”
Following her first FHM appearance, it was immediately followed by another when she was included in a special celebrity diaries issue.
Then in January of this year she was featured in FHM Singapore.
“So far it’s paying well. Maganda ‘yung naging isang buong taon since una akong lumabas, then may magandang follow up, nagtuluy-tuloy,” she admitted.
With all the praise and well wishes she’s been getting, Diaz did not forget to thank all of those who voted for her, including PBA fans, and the support of her family and friends.
Last year she failed to make it to the FHM event honoring its list of Top 100 Sexiest Women due to her courtside reporting duties in the PBA.
This year she’s making sure she’ll be able to strut her stuff.
But Diaz admitted there’s pressure trying to maintain her spot in the Top 60 list.
“Medyo may pressure kasi may itataas pa ba ako?” she asked. “For someone na who’s not even 5-foot-2, I’m just 5-feet tall, umabot pa ako sa #52.”
She’s not yet thinking ahead of next year though. She’s just taking one spot at a time.
“God is good and the surprises never stop,” she said.
