CANADA'S Matt O'halloran made it a double in the Pico Tri by ruling the triathlon race on Saturday.
O'halloran posted a record time of one hour, 47 minutes, 27 seconds as he bested 288 other participants at Pico de Loro, Hamilo Coast in Nasugbu, Batangas.
The Canadian triathlete, who ruled the men's pro category last year with a time of 1:45:25, took control in the swim and bike legs and never looked back from there.
"I just built a big lead in the swim and bike and that was my advantage," he said. "I just blew them mentally so they can't catch up."
Filipino Benjamin Raña came in second with 1:51:00 while compatriot Jonard Saim finished third with 1:52:07.
Meanwhile, Kim Mangrobang dominated the women's elite category with 2:04:27. Jenny Rose Guerrero came in second with 2:07:09 and Joyette Jopson was third with 2:18:32.
