AN advocacy run aimed to create awareness on the danger of dengue will be held Sept. 23 on Roxas Blvd.
Three categories in 3K, 5K, and 10K runs are going to be disputed in the event dubbed `2012 Run Against Dengue’, a project of the Manila Sports Council intended to use sports as one of the main tools to provide information campaign about the danger of dengue and conduct activities to fight the epidemic.
Around 3,000 runners are expected to join the runfest, according to race director John Henri Mariano.
Cases of dengue in the country are usually high during the rainy season, according to Tempra brand manager Cleo Roda Nodado, driving them to work hand in hand with the City of Manila to stage the one-day meet for a cause.
Eric Pablo Lejano, sales and marketing manager of Tempra, said proceeds of the event will benefit the different health centers around Manila. It shall also be used to purchase various anti-dengue modalities.
