    Top athletes, casual runners converge anew for return of Kerry Sports Manila Vertical Run

    THE World Vertical Circuit returns to the Philippines for the Kerry Sports Manila Vertical Run on July 9 at Shangri-La the Fort.

    Top runners battle it out in the Elite category, an invitation race 59 floors up one of the country’s tallest buildings.

    The Horizon Challenge gives other top athletes and casual runners a chance to start competing in vertical races, with a a 37-floor battle set.

    Also on tap is a 20-floor Fun Climb and a Team Challenge, with squads consisting of four runners who will each run 59 floors.

    The event, governed by the International Skyrunning Federation, is the fourth race in the 2017 Vertical World Circuit after the Dubai, Paris and New York races.

    After Manila, the series goes to Beijing, Sydney, Shanghai, Osaka and Hong Kong. The runner with the most points after the series will be crowned Vertical World Circuit Champion.

    Poitr Lobodziski of Poland and Suzy Walsham of Australia are returning to defend their Manila leg Elite titles.
