Rock the classic look right with these must-have white sneakers for men

    Feb 15, 2018
You'll never go out of style with the right white sneaker.

DESPITE our badly-maintained sidewalks and notoriously fickle weather, the white sneaker trend just won’t seem to die out. Maybe that’s because it’s never been a trend—it’s more like a universal style staple that will never fail to impress.

Isn’t it a marvel to see another man at the mall wearing an impeccably white pair, and then wondering how the hell he keeps them so white? Bleach? Baking soda? A deal with the devil? We’ll never know.

But if you're planning to rock this classic, you'll never go wrong with these choices.

    1) Vans Authentic True White

The classic low-top, lace-up sneaker is still a looker nearly 50 years after its introduction. It’s honestly thrilling to wear the True White colorway on a night out to see if you can keep them skid-free, but a dirty pair of white Vans are a look all on its own.

    2) Nike Air Max 90 Leather

Easily one of the most recognized sneakers from the Swoosh, seeing this pair around is like seeing a dinosaur—it’s a bit outdated, but we fawn over it nonetheless.

    3) adidas Men’s Stan Smith

The tennis pro go-to is worn by everybody these days (but you often see a peek of green, black, or red in the ankle area). Stan Smiths age well—even as they become less stiff and more worn-in, your look is still put-together. It’s all in the silhouette.

    4) Superga 2750 Cotu Classic

This is the one pair on the list that looks spectacular with a suit. The Italian brand has always been known for churning out footwear that is hella durable, so you won’t go wrong with this one.
    5) Nike Air Force 1 High

A classic with a bit of a modern twist, there’s a reason the Air Force Highs are still a coveted pair. The velcro ankle strap enhances ankle support and makes you feel super snug.

    6) Puma Roma

This is the less obvious choice (especially in comparison to Stan Smiths), but the shoe’s contrasting side stripes add a much-needed dose of swag.

    7) Men’s White Low-Cut Converse Shoes

Converse has always been associated with a tinge of rebellion (i.e. brides and grooms who wear them to weddings, silly teenagers who wear them to prom), and that’s what makes them so easy to pair with literally any outfit. Wearing them in white? Even better.

    8) Sperry Captain’s CVO Sneaker

The original 1935 design is prepared for anything the seven seas have to throw at you. Contrary to popular belief, this brand offers way more than your conyo boy boat shoe silhouette.

    9) Onitsuka Tiger Mexico 66 SD

Another unusual choice—the Japanese brand’s most famous design looks especially crisp in this all-white (or cream-cream) colorway.

    10) Fred Perry Deuce Leather

Inspired by the championship days of its brand’s namesake, this leather pair is a British classic that won’t let you down on a special occasion.

    11) adidas Original Superstar

Not into the Stan Smith? The OG shoe might be more up your alley, especially if you’re looking for a 100% white design. The rubberized toes are super easy to clean, too, so you can use these as everyday shoes.

    12) Jack Purcell Classic Low-Top

If the Chuck Taylors feel just a bit too Fall Out Boy for you, its grown-up version (even with the smiley face on the toe) is another option. The design has remained unchanged since the 1930s, a testament to its no-nonsense reliability.

    13) Gucci Ace Embroidered Leather Sneaker

Game to invest some serious moolah in a pair you want to keep for life? Designer brand Gucci’s signature red-and-green snake and red-and-green stripe adorns this pair, which is sure to turn heads.
