BEING the wife or a girlfriend of a PBA player is more than just being always present during the games.
As a PBA WAG, Liza Almazan is the life anchor of Rain or Shine slotman Raymond.
Liza shared to SPIN Life that while many others think that having a basketball player as a partner is all rainbows and butterflies, tons and tons of sacrifice is also needed.
Di lang kasi PBA siya or because of money. Dumaan din kami sa trials,” said Liza.
“Mahirap din, syempre dadating talaga [ang time] na may trials,” she added. “[As a wife] kasi kung ipapakita mo sa kanya na mahina ka, wala siyang huhugutan ng lakas ng loob.”
She stressed that being Raymond’s wife, she is his life partner, someone who will be there for him through ups and downs.
Liza believes that whatever happens to Raymond, it will be a reflection on her as a wife.
Raymond’s basketball career has gone through a lot. He was dubbed as the prodigal son, who once disappeared for a week before he resurfaced again to patch things up with his team. But all is well now and he’s back with Rain or Shine.
Many may say negative things to Raymond but the Bataan native is the best dad to their two-year-old son, Jacob.
“As a father, si Raymond wala rin akong masabi kasi sobrang maalaga siya sa anak niya,” said Liza.
