EXACTLY three years ago, Korean national team captain and personality Kim Yeon-Koung (better known as KYK) received the loudest of applause as her team graced the Philippine stage for the 19th AVC Asian Senior Women’s Volleyball in August 2017.

The squad finished the tournament with a bronze medal.

“When I play here, it feels like I’m playing at home,” she told SPIN Life in a previous interview. “I didn’t expect that there’s so much people supporting me here in the Philippines and when I came here I’m really surprised that a lot of people are supporting me and they know me and I was really [feeling] great to be here and thankful for the Filipino fans.”

The 32-year-old outside hitter even decided to take a photo with a very young fan, whom she found adorable gracing the sidelines while they play.

"I saw him before the game and he was like giving this (bouquet of flowers) to me and I was like, 'After the game, after the game.' He then came to me and he was so cute, and my heart was so much thankful," said KYK.
