ACTRESS and entrepreneur Sam Pinto does all she can to be supportive of her man, TnT KaTropa cager Anthony Semerad.
If it means cheering at the top her lungs to boost Semerad's morale, the three-time PBA muse is unafraid to go all-out to the point of losing her poise in public.
“Kami ‘yung constant cheerleader, kami rin ‘yung laging nandyan to massage them every night," Sam says. "Siyempre athlete, they’re always physical kaya palaging may masakit sa kanila. [Minsan] personal masseur, minsan driver din ako.”
She added: “Oo naman, siyempre you’re so into the game so, of course, kung anuman ang mangyari, you’re cheering or you’re angry, it’s all part of it.”
For someone who's still trying to master the ins and outs of basketball, Sam's unwavering loyalty is quite a delight to see. “I don’t fully understand the game yet, but I’m learning while I watch. Kung minsan ang kasama ko wala ring alam so there are times na kaming lahat, napapa-'anyare?"
But while there are things she’s willing to do for Semerad, Sam admits there are tasks she won't do for him.
“Hindi ako marunong magluto, so siya na ‘yun,” she cites, laughing. “And ‘yung things niya na pambasketball, siya na rin ‘yun kasi baka magkamali ako. Like sa socks, baka magkaibang pair mailagay ko sa bag, mapagalitan pa ako.”
The couple has been dating for almost a year now, and Sam feels she's finally getting the hang of what it's like to be a member of the PBA WAGS.
She has learned to adjust when to give his boyfriend the space he needed to process, for example, his team's losing streak. “Surprisingly, okay naman, we all understand that there are days na they will win or they will lose so ok naman."
