THE Philippines is home away from home for F2 Logistics import Maria Jose Perez.
In her third season with the Cargo Movers in the Philippine Super Liga Grand Prix, the Venezuelan not only likes the Philippine weather (which is close to home) but also adores the warmth of the people.
“Yes, of course, I love to be here because the fans, the people are so kind and I feel comfortable here,” she said.
“And because F2 is really like a family, we have a good cooperation, and even the coaches we have a good connection,” she said.
Every game, fans cheer for her and ask for selfies, patiently wait for her outside the venue and hand her gifts or even just a warm greeting.
Perez admitted all the gestures melt her heart.
“I make so many friends, I like the people here,” she said.
During her first conference with F2 Logistics, Perez played a vital role in the Cargo Movers’ championship run and was named MVP.
The following year, however, Perez and Co. finished runner-up to Petron which had American imports Lindsay Stalzer and Hillary Hurley leading the way.
But on her third year, Perez and Stalzer teamed up, hoping to give F2 Logistics its second Grand Prix title.
