EMOTIONS ran high before PBA players departed for the bubble at Clark Freeport Zone in Pampanga.
These tough guys showed their soft sides in sentimental messages addressed to families and loved ones, bidding them temporary goodbye as they head for the restarted conference.
For those teams that will go the distance, that means spending a maximum of two months inside Clark as they vie for the Philippine Cup.
For many, this is the first time they will spend the longest time away from their families.
Kiefer Ravena, looking both excited and nostalgic, uploaded a family photo with his mom Mozzy, dad Bong, sister Dani, brother Thirdy, and girlfriend Alyssa Valdez.
“Gon be a little tough staying away from you guys for the next hopefully 2 months,” he said. “Can’t lie about this but it’s been too long!!! PBA is back. Praying for no injuries and no health issues for the entire league.”
It must have also been hard for CJ Perez. The wife of the Terra Firma Dyip's young guard had just given birth to another baby girl last week. He posted an adorable family picture saying how much he loves his little family.
Fellow ‘girl dad’ Mark Barroca dedicated a simple post to his wife and two daughters.
“Mamimiss ko kayo. See you soon mga mahal ko. I love you so much,” he said. On the thread, his wife Ruselle commented, “I’m excited and happy for you!”
Ginebra's Jared Dillinger wore his heart on his sleeve and crafted a heartfelt message to his daughter.
“I continue to challenge you my daughter to learn and grow into the beautiful strong independent woman we all want you to be amidst all the negatively going on in our world today. I love you my daughter, from the bottom of my heart. See you soon,” he said in the caption.
An equally painful parting happened for Magnolia's Ian Sangalang. His son's third birthday was celebrated just yesterday.
