THEIR dream was to have a beach wedding. But not even a pandemic could stop these two from getting married.
Roque and Romelyn Tan, a couple from Iloilo City, decided to get hitched with a DIY ceremony. They even had a pre-nup shoot inspired by their balut business.
Check out this Summit Original video on their story:
Their wedding outfits were bought from an ukay-ukay. The total cost of the wedding — including wedding ring and guest souvenirs, as well as food and decor for the event — came to just P15,000.
Despite the circumstances, Roque pulled out all the stops in making the wedding possible… a fact for which Romelyn is eternally grateful.
Roque shared the story of their ceremony on social media. Its inspiring message quickly went viral.
“Dahil sa hirap ng buhay at sa ganitong sitwasyon na may pandemic, naisip pa rin namin na ituloy pa rin ang kasal kahit sa simpleng paraan dahil para sa amin ang kasal is a blessing po,” he said.
“I’m so thankful, blessed, and happy na kahit paano natuloy pa rin siya,” added Romelyn. “Ang maikasal lang talaga is sapat na po.”
