A week after, Orlando Porio, a PWD and certified NLEX fan, got his fervent wish.
The resident of Barangay Commonwealth finally received the brand-new wheelchair promised to him by the PBA and got a big, added bonus after meeting in person the entire Road Warriors team including his idol coach Yeng Guiao at the Smart Araneta Coliseum Friday night.
Porio was special guest of Commissioner Willie Marcial during the Governors Cup game between NLEX and TnT Katropa after being chosen as one of the lucky winners in the weekly PBA Homecourt.
Marcial took the occasion to personally give Porio his new wheelchair, which was his lucky prize when the league visited his barangay last week.
At the same time, the league commissioner also accompanied him inside the NLEX dugout to personally meet Guiao and the rest of the players.
Porio admitted being a long-time fan of Guiao way back during his stint with Red Bull.
He later had his photo taken with the entire team together with NLEX Asst. Vice-President Ronald Dulatre and Marcial.
The Road Warriors in return gave him a number of shirts and souvenir stuffs all signed by the players, while sophomore star Kieffer Ravena was gracious enough to hand him a pair of sneakers duly signed by him.
And Guiao? He gave Porio a jacket and shirts.
Porio could have served as the Road Warriors' lucky charm as the team later dealt TnT Katropa its first loss, 126-113.
The Road Warriors improved to 6-1 for second place and just half a game behind the league-leading Katropa (7-1).
