THE Philippine national women’s volleyball team has started to build up its Under-23 team and the Larong Volleyball sa Pilipinas, Inc. (LVPI) might want to keep an eye on Audrey Santos.
Audrey is the daughter of PBA star Arwind Santos and wife Yvette. She is a seventh grader at St. Paul College Pasig and, at 12, already stands 5-foot-8.
She’s currently into basketball, but her dad is trying to introduce her to volleyball.
“I just wanted to try it [basketball]. It feels actually good [to play basketball]. But I feel pressured because my dad teaches a lot of things,” Audrey told SPIN Life during one of San Miguel’s games at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
“I’m not really sure, kasi po my dad said that my body [type] is for volleyball, so I’m still choosing between volleyball or basketball,” she added.
Arwind, however, insisted that he will support Audrey in whichever sport she chooses. He's also giving her all the time to decide.
But if he asked for advice, the former PBA MVP said it’s best to choose volleyball.
The former PBA MVP actually has four daughters. All tall, and all blessed with good genes.
