Meet Phoenix coach Louie Alas' stress-reliever from PBA semis

GAME Four of the PBA Philippine Cup semfinals against San Miguel was probably one of the most stressful games Phoenix coach Louie Alas had to handle.

With two of his men getting ejected because of technical fouls, seeing his players going down because of the physicality, the veteran mentor was fuming mad.

Still, after the game, which they lost, 114-91, in Game Four of the best-of-seven semifinals series, Alas could only smile and be thankful.

His stress buster? His adorable grandchild, Kamryn Louise.

“Automatic, kapag makita mo lang tanggal lahat ng iniisip mo. [Stress at pagod] erase, wala na,” said Lolo Louie.

“Unang-una baby girl ‘yun eh kaya super happy kami talaga,” he added.


    The first-time grandfather also revealed that even before they prayed for a baby girl, his eldest son Junjun already told them the good news.

    Having four sons, his happiness doubled to finally have a little girls in the family.

    “Actually hindi pa kami nakakapag pray na sana babae sinabi na ni Junjun na babae,” he said.

    Lolo Louie’s only wish for his two-month old bundle of joy is only the best in life.

    “Ang gusto ko lang lahat ng magandang pwede naming maibigay, ibibigay namin and in return sana maging katulad siya ng wife ko [si Liza], God fearing, maganda, and we will support her all the way,” he said.

    Known to be a disciplinarian, Lolo Louie said that their role as grandparents is to spol baby Kamryn.

    “May magulang sila, sila ang magdisiplina,” he said.

    “Spoiler kami,” added his wife, Liza.
