BALL indeed is life for Justin Brownlee.
After all, despite the ongoing PBA Governors’ Cup, the resident Barangay Ginebra import had time to sneak in a friendly with kids at a barangay court in Mandaluyong recently.
Wearing a retro Orlando Magic jersey, the well-loved naturalization candidate put smiles on the faces of the kids at Barangay Highway Hills as he went with pal and San Miguel Alab Pilipinas forward Lawrence Domingo on a scooter.
It seems it’s Brownlee’s go-to place for some streetball, thanks to Sheila Afable, a Barangay Highway Hills resident who once regularly cooked meals that Gilas Pilipinas players and staff eat after practice sessions.
“Dito na talaga pumupunta yun,” said Homer Lopez, another Barangay Highway Hills resident, who took a live video of Brownlee’s visit and posed for a photo with the Ginebra reinforcement.

Lopez, an Aquinas school alumnus who’s considered one of the best players to never suit up for the high school varsity team, was impressed with the play that capped Brownlee’s exhibition and sent the kids to a wild celebration.
“Maganda kasi yung galaw, iwan yung batang bantay at shoot tira,” Lopez marveled.
Don't be surprised if Brownlee suddenly shows up in your barangay next.
