ATHLETES have their own signature when it comes to pregame rituals. Pregame rituals could rather be odd at some point just like basketball superstar Lebron James’ "chalk toss" and how former French player and now PSG’s football player Laurent Blanc used to kiss his goalkeeper’s forehead for good luck.
While there are strange pregame rituals, there are also simple ones that have been already a part of an athlete’s routine every game.
One example is NorthPort’s Jonathan Grey.
He said that he has a pregame ritual that he has been doing since his college days in De La Salle-College of St. Benilde.
Looking like a pretty boy in and out of the court, the Batang Pier star shared that his pregame consists of taking a bath before a game.
He noted that he does it not only as one of his routines, but also considers it as a part of his warm-ups.
“Before game lagi akong naliligo. ‘Yun ‘yung routine ko ever since college ako," he shared. "Sa mismong arena naliligo ako, shave. Parang warm up ko na rin ‘yon sa sarili ko,” he shared.
The former CSB standout also noted that he usually does follow a recent trend when it comes to fashion but would rather choose a simple style than flashy trends.
“Depende pagka gusto [pumorma] ko, depende. Normally, gusto ko simple lang,” Grey shared.
When asked how he usually dresses up, Grey didn’t hesitate to list down his go-to choice of clothings.
“Just a pair of shorts, t-shirt and Vans na shoes,” he said.
