FORMER ONE DIRECTION member Liam Payne died after falling from the third floor of the Casa Sur Hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He was 31.
Numerous reports have emerged about Payne's struggles with alcoholism back in 2023. A year later, his ex-fiancee Maya Henry, filed a lawsuit against Payne for obsessive contact.
Police respond to distress call
Policicchio kept on with the details highlighting that the police immediately responded from the distress call, where it was hinted that Payne was under the influence of drugs or alcohol. When the police arrived, they heard a thud and saw Payne's body in the hotel courtyard.
Payne's journey as a singer began when he auditioned in The X Factor where he was able to move past the first around, only for him to be eliminated in the Boot Camp stage back in 2008.
He was encouraged by judge Simon Cowell to return, which he did two years later. In his return he showed a lot of promise, even garnering four yeses and a standing ovation from Simon Cowell after singing Michael Buble's version of Cry Me A River.
As the competition went on, guest judge Nicole Scherzinger suggested that Payne should team up with Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson, and Zayn Malik, which led to the emergence of One Direction.
Eventually as his career took off, Payne decided to part ways with the group to begin his solo artist career back in 2016.
