A lavish spender, 'Money' Mayweather also knows how to give back

THROUGH the social media posts of Floyd Mayweather Jr., the boxing superstar shares a glimpse of his daily, extravagant life.

On his Instagram and Twitter accounts are his vacation trips, his mansions, cars, money - everything that other people could only wish they have.

While some people may think that the 41-year-old Mayweather only cares about his money, unknown to many, however, the retired undefeated fighter makes it to a point to give back as much as he spends.

“Every life counts, it’s about giving back,” said Mayweather on Wednesday night during the SV Private Party hosted by Frontrow International president RS Francisco and Frontrow CEO Sam Verzosa at Corinthian Gardens in Quezon City.

“I’m worldwide, I feel like the earth is my turf, so I give back wherever I go. I’m in America I’m giving back every day, I don’t have to glorify it and tell the world that this is what I do every day,” he added.

The outspoken fighter stressed that he can flaunt about his lavish lifestyle but he’d like to keep his charity works private.

“When you do good intentions, you don’t have to talk about it,” he pointed out. “So when I’m in America, I give back all the time but I don’t talk about it.”

Mayweather, however, clarified that it’s a rare occasion for him to say something about his charities.

“Over here [in the Philippines], even though we’re talking about it, it’s because these [Francisco and Verzosa] are my business partners, I just let the people know that I’m worldwide,” he said.

“I don’t have to go social media talk about what I’ve done,” he continued.

As someone who knows how it’s like to have nothing, Mayweather, who dropped out of high school to give his family a better life, encouraged everyone to always work hard and follow their dreams.

“Don’t give up, keep fighting, keep believing, keep striving to be the best and that’s exactly what I did,” he said, stressing every word.
