AFTER a four-year fight with the disease that has largely been kept out of the public eye, Black Panther star Chadwick Boseman succumbed to colon cancer, representatives confirmed Friday night (Saturday morning, Manila time) .
A statement released on Twitter said that Boseman died in LA, with his wife and family by his side.
“A true fighter, Chadwick persevered through it all, and brought you many of the films you have come to love so much,” continued the statement.
Boseman was most known for his role in Marvel’s Black Panther, playing a superhero and African king in the Academy Award-nominated film. But he also took on many memorable roles throughout his career, including that of Jackie Robinson, the first Black person to play in Major League Baseball.
His latest movie, Da 5 Bloods, is currently showing on Netflix.
