IT may have seemed like it was actress Jessy Mendiola who was watching the Rain or Shine game against Magnolia last Wednesday night at the MOA Arena. But don’t be fooled, it was Kiesha Ancheta, girlfriend of Rain or Shine sophomore Rey Nambatac.
Despite normally being the center of attention, the print and TV model did not mind taking the back seat to Nambatac, who’s a rising star for the Elasto Painters.
The proud girlfriend could not help it but her heart swells with pride every time her beau shines.
“Sobrang natuwa ako at saka paulit-ulit ko talagang pinanood yung ginawa niya [online], siguro naka-20 ata ako mahigit, kaya nakakatuwa,” she said.
Nambatac, naturally, has his own fans—something that does not bother Ancheta at all. In fact, she feels even more proud to see that people, including female fans, admire him.
“Mas natutuwa ako kapag may mga girls na nagpapa-picture sa kanya kasi nakaka-proud na parang, 'Uy, jowa ko yan'” she said.
Ancheta also explains that her role as Nambatac’s girlfriend doesn’t end as a cheerleader. She wanted to make sure that she’s also his source of inspiration and support.
“Nag-thank you siya sa akin kasi may gift ako sa kanya from Cebu na Sto. Niño and sabi niya yun daw ang nagdala sa kanya ng swerte,” she said.
Being a kagawad in Valenzuela, Ancheta is happy to see that Nambatac also makes time to familiarize himself in her field.
Ancheta and Nambatac will celebrate their third-year anniversary this August.
