FROM being a San Miguel ‘baby’, Alyssa Muhlach has become the Beermen’s muse for the 45th Season of the PBA.
During the opening ceremonies on Sunday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum, the daughter of former PBA star Paul ‘Bong’ Alvarez to estranged wife Almira Muhlach looked radiant in her elegant white dress.
Talking to a handful of sportswriters, Alyssa recalled how she was introduced to the PBA as a young kid.
“Sobrang exciting kasi dati nanonood lang ako, pero ngayon naging part ako ng mundo ng daddy ko before. So I’m really so happy,” said Alyssa.

Although her dad could not attend the opening ceremonies due to prior commitments, Alyssa, 24, shared that her father was definitely proud of her.
“Pati ‘yung daddy ko, sobrang saya niya na dito ako napunta. The year I was born, he was [playing for] San Miguel Beer,” she said.
“Sobrang saya niya. Sayang lang he couldn’t make it here but he really wishes he could have made it if he didn’t have work pero sobrang proud daw niya and saya nga daw niya,” she added.
Asked if she also played basketball like her dad, Alyssa was quick to answer that her role was to be her dad’s cheerleader — and now SMB’s as well.
“No, cheerleader lang ako ng daddy ko and cheerleader na ako ng San Miguel,” she said.
