Nov 19, 2018

WHO will be the 2018 SPIN.ph Sportsman of the Year?

That will be known on December 6, when the country's first full-staff, standalone sports website honors the best and brightest in Philippine sports for 2018 in a simple awards ceremony at the Crown Plaza Manila Galleria in Ortigas.

Asian Games gold medalists Hidilyn Diaz, Yuka Saso and Margielyn Didal, Team Pilipinas coach Yeng Guiao, the NU Lady Bulldogs basketball team, and soon-to-be five-time PBA MVP June Mar Fajardo are among those set to be honored for a place among SPIN.ph 10 Sports Heroes for 2018.

They are also candidates for the Sportsman of the Year honor.

Previous winners of the award are former Gilas Pilipinas coach Chot Reyes (2013), former Gilas captain Jimmy Alapag (2014), PBA star Calvin Abueva (2015), Olympic silver medalist Diaz (2016) and four-time PBA MVP June Mar Fajardo (2017).

In the meantime, you can start voting for the 2018 Reader's Choice awardee, who will be honored alongside the 10 Sports Heroes of the Year, through the SPIN.ph Sportsman of the Year microsite.
