ATHLETES shined bright alongside beauty queens and actresses as they spiced up the opening ceremonies of the 44th Season of the PBA, at the Philippine Arena in Bocaue, Bulacan on Sunday.

Volleyball star Alyssa Valdez was the muse for NLEX, while volleyball standout Myla Pablo and swimmer Jasmine Alkhaldi represented Blackwater.

The trio looked glamorous as they paraded with their respective teams.

“We’re just really thankful na may mga ganitong opportunities, na nakakasama mo rin yung mga ibang talented na mga atleta,” said Valdez, who was wearing a dark blue mini dress and three-inch heels.

Alyssa, who’s in her second stint as a PBA muse, said that she still felt nervous with her role, which was very different from her job as volleyball player.

Alkhaldi, on the other hand, a first-timer, felt that being chosen as a PBA muse was empowering for female athletes.

“[I’m] very honored and humbled to be given this opportunity,” said Alkhaldi, who wore a red dress.

“It feels good na female athletes are being recognized na rin. And to be able to, I guess, be the, I don’t know, spokeswomen of all the other female athletes,” she added.

“I think it’s nice to be able to be given a chance to go out there and parade with the basketball teams, high profile celebrities, parang being up there with them is exciting,” the stunning swimmer continued.

Joining Valdez, Pablo and Alkhaldi as PBA muses were Klea Pineda (Alaska), Pia Wurtzbach (Ginebra), Aya Fernandez (Northport), Kelley Day (Columbian), Sharon Cuneta (Magnolia), Eva Patalinjug (Meralco), Yam Concepcion (Phoenix), Anie Uson (Rain or Shine), Kylie Versoza (San Miguel). and Sam Pinto (TNT KaTropa).
