THE University of Santo Tomas Growling Tigers may be one of the rawest and youngest teams entering UAAP Season 82, but that isn't a problem for senior Zach Huang, who continues to do what it takes to lead the Tigers on and off the court.
"As a senior, I'm not really vocal, but I want to be a good example sa mga teammates ko by building good habits sa pratice. And outside the court, we always go together," he shared to SPIN Life.
Being one of the team's elder statesmen, Zach often comes an hour earlier during trainings to practice his shooting. The extra effort has paid off against the UE Red Warriors, which he torched for 22 points and five rebounds, en route to a 101-73 blowout on Wednesday.
Despite his hot shooting, Zac applauded his younger teammates for making this particular performance possible.
"I have to give credit sa teammates ko kasi they were looking for me early in the game, and they were playing unselfish basketball," he said. "I'm willing to take a step back if that's what my team needs. If my teammates are more talented than me, I'm willing to take a back seat as long as we get the win."
